Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Peter Curtin spent the first half of his career working in opioid addiction treatment programs in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He earned his Bachelors in Counseling and Psychotherapy from the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences and, after relocating to the US, obtained his Masters in Social Work from the Catholic University of America.

Curtin is part of the Foundations San Francisco team and also has a private practice in Oakland, California. Through his many years of therapeutic work, his areas of expertise are addiction treatment, depression, anxiety and trauma. His style of therapy involves tracking body sensations, emotions and thoughts as well as using evidence-based techniques such as mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to allow sobriety to blossom and new goals to be achieved.
